Shockgobbles

Six Pointer
This is from August 1st, I sure wish these guys were showing up daily now like they were back then. I'm getting them once a week or so now and the clover is dry with our lack of rain. 4 in that frame I would be thrilled to make my first bow buck and a few other candidates not pictured.

Problem is this plot is tough to hunt with our predominant wind. But I'll get to bow hunt a lot more this year being out of school so I'm excited to say the least...

These guys are making it easier for me to train. No telling where they will be by the time I get there, but I'm excited about it. Now if I can get my knees and legs to cooperate... 🤞

What state? 6x6 is a much better bull than the 7x7

New Mexico. If I'm lucky enough to get an opportunity, either one of those 2 will work just fine. Those 2 are actually bigger than my expectations.
100% agree. Both are trophies, especially for some flatlanders. Is that private or public land? Did you draw a tag or using a landowner?

Public draw tag... Landowner tags for this unit are north of 12k. Unit wide tags with a private ranch access go for 15k. Too rich for my blood. It's part of the reason it took me 22 years to draw it.

That was my next question - how long to draw/how many points. Can you hunt there without a guide being an out of stater? Wyoming requires an outfitter on public land.

No guide required, but I have one. The success rate for last season was 12%. So it's obviously not easy. Odds are likely coming home with nothing. Been there and done that. But it sure is fun.

I thought Wyoming only required a guide in designated wilderness areas ? Pretty sure there’s plenty of self guided options on public land there….

Its all fun and games till you get a shredded tongue and a corn kernel launched in your eye.

I shot one once and saved it the trouble. Came in and suck nose in the feeder... I shot and before the smoke settled the feeder went off. Sometimes I wish I waited to see the reaction
