Don't think I've seen this here. If I remember correctly, he wouldn't fly, but would travel to games locations by ground. Sounds lot like my dad in that regard.

No doubt about his influence on the game, much like Dick Vitale in college BB.. never particularly cared for him as an announcer but hate to hear that he is gone.

Remember him with Stabler....the Snake. One of the best to ever coach a game. He goes back a long time when football was at its best. The game today not so good.

Yup watched many a game he and Summerall called back when it was football I could watch. Madden seems to have lived a full life good for him
