In for #4…..clowns in my party missed a year so we’ll be at 3 as a group. Be interesting to see what creep will do in next couple years. Think SE will take at least 5, hopefully it won’t go to 6.

Yeah EHD seems to be a forgone conclusion every year in S Iowa. Maybe the dirt grows more than big racks

I got mine this morning. Im only at two but I'm more interested in the muzzleloader after first of the year. I hope by having some points it would get me a better unit. I would like to take a long trip in January and bow hunt in Missouri while I'm there.

With 2 points and late season ML tag you should be good to draw now. Not sure if you know, but you CAN use your bow during the Iowa late ML season also just an fyi.

Bow hunting Iowa in January sounds miserable! If the hunting is good it usually means the weather is nasty! I’m not sitting in a tree in below 0 weather hoping I can draw my bow if the one shows up.

I can appreciate that sentiment. I have sat in a tree in Iowa with the actual ground temperature at -8. It does take the right frame of mind and the proper clothing. These days I will still hunt during those periods but it will more than likely be from my Banks blinds with a heater going, I’m not as young as I use to be either…Bow hunting Iowa in January sounds miserable! Sounds like a good time to me. All jokes aside i hunt those times just to try and hunt when most don't want to. Bought number 6, plan is to apply next year and get my archery rut fix. From then on I’ll do the late season hunts for 0-1 points (barring point creep which I know is going to hit them too).
