Scouting the back of my property a minute ago and came across a young turkey, still alive but it appears to have a broken wing. Wondering how that could have happened?

There are literally hundreds of ways this could happen. He won’t last long if he can’t get up to roost.

It's not going anywhere, wing's definitely broken. That's a darn shame but it's how nature works. I guess varmints gotta eat too....

And one of them did QuietButDeadly.....nothing but a pile of feathers when I went out there a minute ago...

Unfortunately, a very small percentage of poults reach adulthood. Mother nature compensates by hens laying a dozen or more eggs.
