Four Pointer
So I know a lot of folks will hunt creeks, rivers, and either float and hunt birds or do a jump shoot. Any of you guys focus on creeks and rivers?
A few things I've noticed over the years, in some heavily pressured areas the birds do love to loaf around a creek. Usually it's late morning, mid-day or right before sunset. Personally I have NEVER done a creek hunt (or river...other than the big rivers on the coast). I have a lease on a private property that has a big marsh, the other side of the road has a nice creek and pretty open run that goes to a large pond on another property. During turkey season I would see a few wood ducks fly down that creek channel, and thinking of trying it one day during the last split.
Just curious if you guys do it, and have success? Do you hunt sunrise, mid-day or evening?
