How to catch Crappie and Bass below small spillways

One of my favorite ways to fish often overlooked small spillways. Bass fish then go to less noisy lures to let the fish "settle" back down. This spill way doesn't look like much but i have caught 3lb crappie here and 1 bass over 9 and 2 over 8 here.

thanks! in July and august it can be a trickle but I dont think have ever seen it not run and yes the bite does turn off...higher up to a certain point is better.
