Enlisted 3 Jan 72' in the Army, just before my number was up and called in to do what they needed at the moment.. Spent from May 72 to Oct 77 in B 1/504 Airborne Infantry, 82nd Airborne Division. I needed a bigger thrill and moved from one end of Gruber Rd to the other end.. Smoke Bomb Hill section. Retired in Jan 92'.

I served with Bucky Burruss at the end of his career,,,,1986 and 1987 in Delta,,,remember his retirement ceremony,,deeds upon deeds,,,,Good man that I was honored to know,,,

I eat crabs with him nearly every Sunday during crab season. His stories never get old. I'm honored to know him as well.

USN, 1986-2010. Bootcamp at Great Lakes, completed four overseas tours (Australia was great), a couple of ships and a couple of shore duty stations. Retired as a command senior chief in Norfolk.

Entered US Army 1967. March 4 1968 stepped off the plane in South Viet Nam and was with 196th Infantry. I took a job in 1970 with the US gov't and spent the next 32 years getting to see the world. Some great places some not so good. Spent time in Liberia, Morocco, Cyprus, Russia, Lebanon, Brazil, Argentina, and stateside in Chevy Chase Md. Retired 2002 and moved back home to NC.

Enjoyed it all! Went to a buddie's retirement ceremony a few months back and almost thought about seeing if the Dress Blue trousers still fit. ?

First 15 years as an Artilleryman and the last 8 as an Electronic Warfare Specialist. Reenlisting was too easy and getting out was too scary. I never wanted to worry about where and when the next meal would appear. So I always chose to stay employed by Uncle Sam. I didn't want to retire when I did. I was medically retired last year.

1971-1974 ... Draft Lottery #6. Delayed 3 year enlistment for six months or so. Basic at Fort Jackson,, AIT at Fort Knox in 11D ...(Recon), Stayed for another school at Knox, then off to Baumholder, Germany for the rest of my tour. Cold, wet nasty GI town. Met lifelong friends and had a good time, but never want to go back.
Drafted Feb. 1971, basic at Ft. Jackson also. D-6-2.

11 year AF vet here 98-09. Worked in Power Production, most in RED HORSE in Vegas. Stationed at Nellis AFB NV twice and spent a year in South Korea. Good times

My uncle was in a red horse squadron back in the 80’s. Always had good stories about Korea too lol

RED HORSE was alot of fun. We weren't home much but it was some of the best times I had while in. Still have a close knit group of folks from my days in The Horse

Started off in Holy Loch Scotland, then on to Little Creek for 2nd Class Dive School, NEC 5343. Had the Honor of Michael Edwin Thornton as my Diving Officer in 2nd Class School. From little Creek, to Charleston, and then on to Kings Bay, Georgia.
