How do you Maintain / Preserve your NEW Mono Fishing line?

In reference to a new spool of mono-line, how do you keep it like new?

I have heard and seen where you wrap it in foil and store it in the refrigerator. Or do you just do whatever to keep it out of the light?

Brown box out of light or heat and it stays fine.

I imagine a quality line would just need to be out of direct sunlight. I am partial to Berkley xl , I know sometimes I am fishing with spooled line from a year ago.

I spray my bulk spools of line with KVD line and lure and it seems to keep for a long time. I use that stuff for all my fishing line.
