I am thinking I want a .45cal paper patch barrel. Something I can smack deer with and steel targets up to 200 yards.
Any suggestions as to twist? I have been eyeballing a Gibbs hollow based .451 slug

if you are going PP, believe you need something with shallow depth rifling, as opposed to the stuff you normally get with a ML.

you may try looking for at barrels made for BPCR rifles in 45-70.

You ever looked into some of the Sharps?

I have a Carbine that I plan to sell, would do great for deer, fine for 100, have not shot at 200 with it.
You can look at the Berdan Sharps rifle, they are great.

Never got into the paper patch much but have paper patched some rounds.
Most being 45-70.
