Four Pointer
Our family will be headed to Oak Island next week. Looking for any advice/suggestions. Would it be worth hitting the piers or just sticking to the surf? Thanks in advance.

I was there the week of Sept 20. I just fished the surf. Shrimp and fishbites for sea mullet and finger mullet i was catching in cast net in the surf for blues. I talked to one couple and they went down to the point and caught some small blues, flounder and puppy drum. Good luck let us know how you do.

I just got back from being there 2 weeks, we caught a good many Spanish and a ton of blues on finger mullet. Also a couple specs and put some flounder on ice before season closed. Fresh shrimp for whitening, pompano and a spot here and there. Also caught a couple over a lot and a couple slot drum. Fishing should only get better.

here's a ray my daughter/sil saw caught today at Oak Island that was tween 8-9 ft long and took bout 2 1/2 hrs to land.
