Hairy Vetch

I've got plenty of other good eats for the wildlife, so it may not get touched. Still, I think it does really well with weed control and puts a bunch of N in the soil for next year's crop. Will be planting corn behind it next spring. Going to see how it goes.

I used it alot in Alabama, it grew great and would take over the plot early Spring. It pretty much summer killed back but came back from seed in the later Fall.
I really can't say how well deer ate it, it grew so fast our herd never kept up with it. I do know they ate it but can't speak to their preference.

Both.

We planted hairy vetch in a mix on a field 5 years ago and that stuff is still popping up.

Although Crown Vetch is much more prone to become a weed, Hairy vetch can too.
Did you plant in fall and kill it the following spring, before it could go to seed?

I planted it in my garden as a cover crop years ago and it still comes up to some degree but less now because my garden is infested with grass
