Gun finish damage

I need some advice......I made a big mistake cleaning my old ruger 10-22 today after a day at the range with my daughter. I spot sprayed a gun blaster type product and set the gun down. I got distracted and it ate some of the finish off in one spot. I immediately soaked a rag in Balistol and wiped it down to try to prevent any further damage. It’s minimal and only cosmetic, but I would like to repair it. Or have it repaired. It’s a wood stock that is over 35 years old. Any advice on how to proceed? Lesson learned!

Old Mossy Horns
Strip the wood down.
Remove all the old finish.

Soak in water

Sand smooth

Rub and sand with steel wool with tung or danish oil.

More coats of oil the better. I like 3 or so.

Steel wool smooth

Spray gloss to flat. What ever you prefer.

Deluxe or regular model? Where are you located? I have a standard stock somewhere about that age
