I bet that's some great ammo! I've hand-loaded plenty of Sierra GameKing bullets starting in the 1970's. Fine bullets indeed.

Sierra Game Kings are great bullets and I've taken all kinds of game with them over the years. Their almost as accurate as the Sierra match bullets and have a very similar profile. I've never had a problem with the bullet separating like some other manufacturers, and they seem to mushroom as good or better than more expensive brands with a variety of powders and pressures.

This Australian company (ADI) also loads the Swift Sirocco II bullet in 150 grain 308 WIN

The 308 is apparently very popular over there for shooting deer, kangaroos and camels.

That is great bullet/round combo.

Their reference to BTI (Ballistic Temperature Independence) for hunting ammo is interesting in light of some articles I've recently read about the subject in military sniper ammo. Since I typically shoot at 350 yards or less it is something I've never thought much about but is something snipers in the overseas deserts definitely deal with for uber long shots. I even watched a show about ultimate sniper shots lately and one Marine actually mentioned that he heated his rounds in the sun before taking an extreme shot with a 7.62 rifle in order to increase the MV.

There are powders for the reloader where the changes in velocity are minimum with extreme ambient changes. I know Hodgdon and IMR both have such powders.

The Hodgdon powders were developed by this Australian company.

If you are a reloader, do not despair. Hodgdon partnered with ADI/Thales to market BTI powders in the United States. The Hodgdon Extreme family of powders includes: H4198, H322, BENCHMARK, H4895, VARGET, H4350, H4831, H4831SC, H1000, RETUMBO and H550BMG.
