The coon is done!
So, at first I was too embarrassed to post the pics of the coon because I know I screwed up the fur handling in several areas (messed up the tail getting the tail bone out, did not have a coon board, so put the coon on a long cardboard box, the head got stuck as is, etc). But it's my first solo fur handling ever and, despite the imperfections, I'm really proud of it and all the hard work it took to get to this point.
I dried the coon for 7 full days with a big fan on a low setting blowing on it the whole time. Wiped the grease off this morning and got the coon off the "board." Definitely putting up fur only with the proper boards in the future!
Feels dry as parchment and makes kind of a crackly sound. Seems to be finished. Might have a go at tanning it myself and then either put it up as a wall hanger or make it into something.
Here are a couple pics of the coon on the "board" and after I took it off.
