A couple of my old school favorites are Jerry Clower and James Gregory.

A couple newer ones I'll throw out there that I don't think have been mentioned yet are John Mulaney and Rodman.

There are a ton I could list though.....love some good stand-up.

that's a good list!
For me it's;

Richard Pryor
Dave Chappelle
Chris Rock
Sam Kinison
Bill Burr

There are more...
I performed in many of the same clubs as the greats in my youth (1992-1993) all over NYC. It was some of the most fun I've ever had in my life.

NCST8GUY

Frozen H20 Guy
Brian Regan is my all time favorite. Saw him live at Gator Growl one year and was hooked.

Bill Cosby himself I have watched probably 30 times and still laugh hard.

Louis CK and Bill Burr are room destroyers also.

And of course, Benny Hill.

Also, my thoughts match Greg's exactly in regards to Robin Williams. I see him as a more comedic actor than a standup performer.

My thoughts are that there are very few guys that ALWAYS seemed to deliver consistently.

George Carlin springs immediately to mind. Jerry Clower, Cosby,, Don Rickles, Bob Newhart as well...Dave Chappelle is up there too.

Others are really pretty good, but seemed to have hit it really big, to be followed by more content that wouldn't pass on the primetime if it weren't for their previous phenomenal work. I'm about where I'll throw Ron White in wiht that crowd, Larry the Cable guy as well. Bill Engvall I really like as a hard working, long time comic that didn't hit it huge til Jeff Foxworthy brought him to primetime.
