Fall VA turkey

Wasn’t hunting turkeys but bow hunting deer provides the occasional turkey opportunity since VA has a fall season.

Had 20+ come to foodplot this morning. Only 19+ left

Split the turkey in half , 2 sticks of butter with zatarains creole and a jalapeño per half wrapped in heavy duty aluminum foil over a campfire!

Breast was delicious... BUT no matter how I cook the dark meat it’s always like leather.

I give the drums to somebody with a pressure cooker, and I chunk up the thighs and can them. Not as good as canned deer, but fitting
