I have been doing some extensive equipment testing lately and figured out a pretty good camera profile and lens combo (without a teleconverter). All three shots are with a Canon 90D and Canon 500mm F4L IS v.1. Since the v.1 500mm lens is not optimized for the 90D, like the v.2, I have had to pay attention to AF microadjustment to really "dial in" the lens.
Whether you are shooting Canon or Nikon DSLR's, I would highly recommend that you AF microadjust all of your lenses. This will help with clarity and sharpness in your photos.
