Never been to one, are they any fun? My wife mentioned us going to the Asheboro event at the end of the month. I'm sure each chapter is a little different.

Delta Banquet in Raleigh is the best one in the state, tons of guns being given away, all you can eat oysters, low country boil, bbq, all you can drink beer and liquor as well. Some of the most beautiful women serving drinks and raffles as well!

I've enjoyed many over the years. It doesn't take long to spend a pile of money if your not careful
I attended NC State and ECU. They were all fun, but hands down, ECU put it together on a bigger level than NC State.
I’ve been to some outside of those. They are all good. Good food and good people at all of them. I don’t think you will find a bad one.

Charlotte chapter used to have a good one. Not sure if they still put one on.
I've been to several. If you take the Mrs., might need to be a little disciplined. There were always really nice looking ladies selling the ticket books.

Below is a link to all of the coming events for NC. If you want to network and make friends with other duck hunters, I highly recommend becoming a volunteer. I have been a volunteer for some time and have hunter waterfowl with other members all over the world. Several of the chapters throughout the state have dinner meetings every month at someones hunting cabin or local pub. I am headed to Charleston this Friday for the big SEWE oyster roast. Big event with over three thousand people.
DU has also been good for my kids. We travel to the National Conventions each year and they get to meet other hunters from all over the country.
At most of our dinners we say The Pledge of Alliance as well as pray in Christ name for the USA. DU also has an 87% efficiency rating where all of the money goes back into the ground to protect wetlands.

DU events are fun! More importantly, the revenue generated from these events is critical to our conservation mission and the future of waterfowl hunting.

I got a question for you as a volunteer. I would like to volunteer with DU but not in the selling tickets and looking for sponsors area but actually boots in the mud. Duck box’s things like that but no one in the organization can help me. Do you have any contacts? Also I will be down at SEWE always a great time.

Let me know if you are interested in participating in some bird banning. Volunteers are needed. SC has a good amount of wood duck box projects. Each DU member in SC gets two fully built wood duck boxes with the post and predator guards every year. I think that we should do something similar to that in NC. Several area chapters have certain conservation projects that they do in their area. Send me a pm on where you live and I can get you in touch with the proper staff member.
