FDA: Pet food sold nationwide recalled after at least 28 dogs die, 8 sickened

The FDA and Missouri Department of Agriculture said certain Sportmix pet food products shipped nationwide may contain potentially fatal levels of aflatoxin.

This was a good year for aflatoxin in corn around here. Evidently the not checking as close because they needed the corn. Didn’t hear of any turned down at Purdue feed mill. Have seen some years either had dump the corn in the woods or never pick it and collect crop insurance on it. They use take a sample and put it under a black light the aflatoxin would glitter like gold under the light

I feed the black bag for a while. Switched to wholesomes about a year ago. Sure glad I did.

I switch back and forth between the blue and black bag. Dogs have always done real well on it.

I just use Proplan

I like Proplan as well...And the dogs digest it well and do well on it.
If I were feeding 8 or 9 dogs I'd likely have to revisit options for a more budget-conscious solution.
