posted something similar in years bygone,,,,heart is my favorite "cut" from a deer,,,only had 1/2 the heart as my shot took out the top half,,, 😢

slice heart into 1/2 slices
sliced onion into 1/2 slices
seasoned
heated a sautee pan (on near high) and melted some butter
cook onions to about done,,,then move to edges..
put in heart,,,cook on each side about 45 seconds,,,
remove heart and onion from pan,,,then toss in the bagel slices,,,toast till browned,,,,
make sandwich,,,
devour.....

Some of my hunting buddies have a mental block about eating deer heart but it is my favorite part of the deer. Try slicing it (raw) 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick, then wrapping 2 pieces in bacon with pickled jalepeno slice in between. Grill like dove poppers but the venison heart is even better. If I can remember correctly 1 heart makes 20 to 24 poppers. Works ok with frozen heart, does not need to be fresh...
