Deer Feeder Lids

I have a 55 gallon (homemade) deer feeder. It was made from an odd sized barrel with plastic lid. The squirrels finally got to the lid and I am having a hard time finding one that will fit. Any suggestions for making a lid? I have looked at water heater pans, but am open for other ideas. Thanks.

Use wood. Good coat of paint and it will last a long time

The best is a cone shaped metal lid - like a silo that simply slides down over the barrel rim by several inches. Can't help you on construction though.

Iv e used these for storage, should work on feeders too.

I got some scrap sheet metal and cut it to fit then took a hammer and tapped it to curve around it ...
