And Fayetteville just took advantage of the governors loophole as they just instituted a curfew between 9 pm and 6am. Probably just cutting into the drug dealing profits but doesn’t affect anyone else lol
Don't forget about the hookers!
Ummm do you unders——-As long as you stay 6' away, there isn't an issue.
This right here its shame they're put in that situation I bet money they got no desire to write a ticket for a curfew or checking perfectly law abiding people because they out for ride. It’s a bind alright.... between their oath and their orders.

One of my guys was pulled over ver and questioned yesterday in a City placarded vehicle. All because he was reading the water meter at a nursing home.Has anyone here....or does anyone here know someone....who was stopped during such a declaration (EO)...and asked “whatcha doin”?
How rampant is this trouncing on our constitutional rights?

Yes, my guy pulled into the nursing home, in view of a City Police Officer, and before he could exit his vehicle to read the meter, the Officer pulled in with lights on and questioned him as to what his reason for pulling into the nursing home was. City placarded vehicle, City issued photo ID, were not enough to convince said Officer his reason for being there was legitimate. I was called, as were a couple City Employees. He made a traffic stop....because he saw him reading a water meter????
So he really did not make a traffic stop as the guy was in a parking lot, more of intention check in a high risk location. Not sure I agree with it regardless but I don't think that is the same thing.Yes, my guy pulled into the nursing home, in view of a City Police Officer, and before he could exit his vehicle to read the meter, the Officer pulled in with lights on and questioned him as to what his reason for pulling into the nursing home was. He was eventually allowed to carry on with his job after we answered the Officer’s questions to his satisfaction.
should have showed them his "Ron Swanson" permitYes, my guy pulled into the nursing home, in view of a City Police Officer, and before he could exit his vehicle to read the meter, the Officer pulled in with lights on and questioned him as to what his reason for pulling into the nursing home was. I don’t suppose it was a stop in the technical sense, but he did detain my guy for over 30 minutes. So he really did not make a traffic stop as the guy was in a parking lot, more of intention check in a high risk location. Not sure I agree with it regardless but I don't think that is the same thing.
The fact that my guys have minimal interaction with the public at large is one of the reasons, the main reason in fact, we are continuing to work in lieu of sending my guys home. The down and dirty to this is, some LEO's will exercise common sense, while others will use it as a "power trip". With the above, I'd have to go with "power trip". City vehicle, employee ID, pretty darned obvious what the guy was doing, and he wasn't going to be near anyone else doing it. Pretty stupid of the officer to endanger himself over something so obvious.
I may very well find myself in the same situation. I work for the US Dept. of Ag. We are considered essential and have paperwork signed by both AG Barr and our State Conservationist. Working out of my home, I'll drive to Fayetteville to my office parking lot, switch to my work truck and head out anywhere from Edgecombe Co, to Onslow Co. to Columbus Co. to work on remote farms and likely will not see or speak to anyone until I return home to my wife. I'll be a bit PO'ed if I get detained like you guy did.The fact that my guys have minimal interaction with the public at large is one of the reasons, the main reason in fact, we are continuing to work in lieu of sending my guys home.
I certainly wasn’t happy. IMO, it was completely unnecessary and unwarrantedI may very well find myself in the same situation. I work for the US Dept. of Ag. Of course I have no idea but I'll throw in a possible reason. Nursing homes have had the no visitor policy in place and I personally know of 2 that visitors have tried to sneak into could be cop was asked to watch the nursing home I know one of the ones I mentioned had to ask city for extra patrols.I certainly wasn’t happy. I'd say your right this whole mess is really a PITA for peopleWhile it’s possible, I don’t believe that is the case here.
This particular nursing home, as with most in our area, allows items to be dropped off for residents. Clothes, Depends, etc. They also allow for visits with residents through closed windows, kids show their art work to the residents, church groups come sing hymns outside windows, etc.

And again like I think I said earlier I can find a reason to lawfully stop 95% of vehicles on the road with in a couple of miles of following. So this nonsense about them not stopping someone “violating” the stay home is just that. You can still refuse to answer where are you going (as I will) under my rights. Some cops will use common sense and some small amount will have a power trip. Watch live pd and check out Richland county sc sometime on the borderline illegal stops and searches with some consistency. Ncshp prob wont but rest assured some barney fife three cop town will stop some people for this EO.Thanks 41.....that is a great article. So basically this means that unless you are doing something wrong, they can not just stop you and ask why you are out of your house.
