Old Mossy Horns
SEC Expansion - added Texas and Boomer.
It has been 5000 days since Texas won their conference. LOL

Honestly they didn't have their way in big 12 Oklahoma was way more successful in recent times. But yeah neither is likely finish top in a sec division let alone win it but does bolster the resume of schools that beat on emI can’t wait for the day Texas administration bellyaches to the SEC commissioner about players and fans using the horns down. They may have had their way in the little 12, but that dog won’t hunt in the SEC.

As long as Stoops still has a say on what goes on at OU, they wont be very good. He cost them a chance to get Heupel, which I am thankful for. Stoops ego wont let them bring in someone who would do better than him.Oklahoma still has a program.
Texas has one season in my adult life worth a damn and that was 2005.
Maybe this coach can do something; we'll see.
Well I'd say more like they had one and may still again with right staff which is what it all boils down to. Cuurent staff has not been impressive at all Cuurent ways equates to mediocre record at best in SEC with no hope winning a conf title but we'll see if can turn it around if lasts long enough.Oklahoma still has a program.

Yeah that was a pretty dumb hire for that job I don't doubt he is good coach and may work out great somewhere but this never seemed like a good fit in okl. Heupel looked like the obvious choice. Of course its early gotta give okl time get settled recruit his players I just don't have any faith in that fit.As long as Stoops still has a say on what goes on at OU, they wont be very good. I saw a stat earlier today that said something to the effect that at least one team in the preseason top ten finished unranked at the end of the year for like the last 15 seasons.Three Big Ten teams in the top 10. Proof the preseason rankings are useless.
there's also a factoid/myth that no one not ranked in the top ten preseason has ever won a natty.I saw a stat earlier today that said something to the effect that at least one team in the preseason top ten finished unranked at the end of the year for like the last 15 seasons.
votes are in AP poll says:

AP Top 25 poll: Georgia at No. 1, Michigan edges Ohio State in college football rankings for 2023 preseason
The two-time defending national champions are on top in the first poll ahead of the 2023 seasonwww.cbssports.com
I know of 1 team in the top 25 that won’t be ranked after week 1.
Clemson is my first choice of who I want to see win it all……but I would like to see USC be relevant this year. I like their quarterback. If they just could find an ounce of defense. It’ll be uga, bama and 2 other losers though most likely in the final 4.

Unless they have a defense you can forget it. They might make it in but they would get waxed by bama, uga or Clemson.I was shocked at all the USC votes. Haven't been keeping up I guess.
I am excited to see what auburn does this year. Say what you want about potato…..he’s a great coach…..just wasn’t the right fit and the problem at auburn hasn’t always been coaching…..those dumb boosters ruin anything good there. I think they need to beat 90% of everyone they should beat on their schedule and then 1 surprise win against someone that they realistically shouldn’t beat. I would call that a success.AU = Others receiving votes.
That tells you a lot about what they think of Freeze vs potato. Freeze is already making a difference in recruiting. At least half the Alabama HS coaches had never met potato.

He won just as many titles as malzan.......and they let malzan stick around for about 8 years longer than they should have. He is the definition of mediocrity.potato is a terrible coach
Only 1 player remains from his first recruiting class
Freeze brought in 10 OL.
And a burner phone.Freeze brought in 10 OL.

Every hs coach met malzahn and they still did not win a national championship during his time. Same with Harsin. Harsin didn’t get a chance to get the ball rolling. He was in a losing situation from the beginning.Malzahn was the offensive architect of 1 title and the HC of a runner-up.
Every HS coach in MS, AL, GA, & FL has met Malzahn.
potato, not so much.

I’d take Harsin over Mack any day if the week and twice on Sunday.@agsnchunt tell @Duckmauler dhc how good Mack has been at unc.
He will forget Auburn
Sorry dhc I couldn’t resist.
We’re going to have to disagree on Harsin. He made things worse and showed no signs of improvement. Not even a path to improvement. No recruits.
I’d take Harsin over Mack any day if the week and twice on Sunday.
While I agree early polls are useless don't overlook Mich they got pieces for really good year and Ohio st has best receivers in country luckily no QB with experience. I would in no way be surprised see mich in champ gameThree Big Ten teams in the top 10. Proof the preseason rankings are useless.
They gonna score bunches points got coach, system, and skill guys in place of course at some points you gotta have a defense they are basically Oklahoma 8n big 12I was shocked at all the USC votes. Haven't been keeping up I guess.
Yeah that defense he’s been recruiting for the last 30 years is something specialWe’re going to disagree again!
Mack can recruit.
