College Basketball 2025-2026

Hello everyone! It has been a minute for me, but I’m happy to be back to discuss some college basketball and give my takes.

With the transfer portal as it is now, it’s really hard to gauge teams this early. Something flying under the radar is the influx of foreign players joining college teams as well. I honestly don’t see any dominant teams on paper, but we all know a few will show up as the year gets going.

It should be an interesting year for us locals in NC.

-UNC: has a very balanced team this year and super freshman Caleb Wilson, but it may take a minute for this team to gel. Still waiting on the Luka situation to work itself out as well. Hubert has an abundance of solid players, but I don’t see any generational talents on this team like the great and mighty Armando Bacot. HD better hope they figure it out or that seat could be getting really warm.

-NC State: welcomes the Will Wade era. I
personally think this was a great hire, but will he be able to get it done in Raleigh? He seems to like to stir the pot so he should keep it exciting. In his first year, Wade has preseason ACC POY Darrion Williams. I think he will be a problem.

-Duke: not much to get excited about after a generational choke in the Final Four last year. If Scheyer could not win it all with that team of NBA players, do the Duke faithful truly believe he can ever get it done? Boozer looks like a beast as Scheyer continues to win the recruiting national championship, but history has shown that does not equate to the big prize in March.

New Season starts tomorrow- last season mostly bad memories locally- Let's move on.
Here's the favorites for the yr. In everybody's favorite mode- Preseason polls. :)

Let the arrows fly.
Is Central Arkansas D1?

IC posted an article that says it's possible Luka never plays for UNC.

Hubert's seat is red hot at this point. I think anything short of staying top 25 all season and making the 2nd weekend has him packing his office.

Sounds like Hubert didn't even know during the pregame interview. Luka came out of the tunnel after the rest of the team.

Real just in time stuff from the university here.

After Monday night's win, Wade took the microphone to deliver a clear message to NC State fans and the college basketball world.

"Everybody knows the reckoning is here," Wade said. "The Pack is back and we are not to be messed with." :stir:

what wade is really doing is planning for his next job. He's way too big (in his mind) for raleigh.
having already called Hubert an idiot for not playing the transfer he got from unc he's showing that indeed he's not to be messed with.

I’m gonna enjoy watching this…..one way….or another….

unc favored to whip Self Friday in the Dome. Kansas has no answer for Caleb. They cant stop him or score on him.

My only Q-That friday nite traffic too intense for the fans?

I just want to beat them for the first time in forever. Don't know much about Kansas this year but they say that Peterson kid is legit. Ended up with tickets. I'm just hoping this is the time to break the jinx
It’s been 23 long years since we have beaten them. Might get a decent idea of who this team is early. I have low expectations for the game itself though.
