I hope something sticks. I think he has guys in the post that will buy into playing defense and grabbing boards which is what they will need most from the post with so much talent in the backcourt.

I just got an updated report on this. He is suspended for this season. He hasn’t left the team or the school. He just can’t play this year due to an off the court incident. He is still in school and enrolled in classes. Apparently the incident occurred much earlier this year and they allowed him to continue to practice and be with the team until all investigations of whatever the situation is were over. Sad, he had really worked hard in the offseason and improved greatly.

Interesting to hear he may still be enrolled for this semester as the IC article states otherwise. Hopefully, he is still enrolled. If not, my guess is that he will transfer to a Texas school by Christmas.
If he's suspended by UNC and not the NCAA (read - he's eligible), someone will let him play.

From what I just read he will not be in school this semester but will be back in the spring semester. Will red shirt this year and still have 3 years eligibility left. That tells me bad grades.

That’s a very good question……I’m assuming he was academically ineligible this semester. I never got close to failing nor was I on the basketball team so idk
I was on the baseball team and academically ineligible (for one semester). I could still practice with the team. I just couldn't play in games (it was fall anyways....and I may or may not have played in games
). I don't think anyone cared very much about that back then (it was cleared with opposing coaches before we ever took the field....and no records are kept of fall games anyway. For all I know they had players in the same boat).I took 20 semester hours in my sophomore fall and made a 3.5 and never looked back. It was never an issue again.

The players UNC got in the class of 2024 all committed super early and this class is taking forever.

I am on inside carolina daily and wes tucker(a very reliable source) says that it's taking players so much longer because of NIL and the portal. They are waiting longer to wait and see what benefits they might get and what other players come and go on other teams because no one wants to sit and not play these days or earn their way up.......and if they do have to sit they want to be paid big bucks to do so.

It starts 1 month from today and I cannot wait. In reading and watching all the preseason stuff I really feel like this is the best team Carolina has put on the floor since the 2017 team. Between trimble and drake powell the other team's best player better eat their wheaties before each game because these guys have the potential to lock anybody down. I wish it could start today.

All the 4, 5 guys have to really focus on is getting boards on this team. If they can be active and get a few offensive boards and clean up on the defensive end this team will be in good shape I think. I don't see this team having to rely on the 4,5 guys for a ton of offense, just gritty defense and rebounding.

if Hubert lives up to the preseason hype with this bunch he will be NCOY. Well on his way to besting Dean.
His missed dunks and not showing up in big games, will not be missed. I can’t think of a single memorable game that Bacot had.
