Like him or not he played plenty tough out conf games over years as has Clemson, Ohio st, Texas these teams have never been afraid of hard non conf games. And he is 100% spot on all these teams should sched only guaranteed wins as long as this committee exists.

I don’t dislike him, I think he’s a great coach, but he’s FOS.

Nobody is talking about what they did in the past.

The best team on their OOC schedule this year was a sub .500 Wisconsin, whose starting QB was injured in the first quarter.

As far as scheduling terrible OOC games, that has been an SEC staple for far too long. Nobody wants to see a top SEC team play directional Louisiana. I don’t give a damn about the CFP. That’s an espn product.

I think one of the issues with the SEC up to this point is that they have 8 conference games. They can schedule one decent OOC game and 3 cupcakes. In conferences like the Big Ten, they have 9 conference games and 3 OOC games. If they schedule 3 cupcakes like the SEC teams, then they're hammered for having an easy schedule even through they have the same number of OOC cupcakes just like the SEC. Next year the SEC moves to 9 conference games. We'll see if they retain that one harder OOC game on their schedule going into the future or will do the same as others and keep 3 OOC cupcakes.

the big is hammered for the lack of top to bottom quality that the SEC has. a 9 game conference schedule in the sec is exponentially harder than 9 in the big.

Belichick has told UNC he will accept the job but will not negotiate. Gave UNC a 400 page "bible" with his demands, structure, payment requirements, etc. UNC would have to hire a GM who would handle all recruiting. Decision expected in 24h.

Move along, no way UNC spends that much $$$ on football when they can't even come up with the cash for a C for the basketball team.

Have so much more to gain than lose. Don't do this, you're a perennial stepping stone job. Do this and back a guy trying to change the college game into a business and wants to build a dynasty outside of the blue bloods of football.

Pay that guy and see if you can become something. I’m sure Bill sees the influx on money and people into this state with the door wide open for football and the ACC, if someone could take the reigns.

I just don’t think UNC has the culture for it, but winning can change things quickly.

I’m hearing it’s done.

He and Savannah were buddies and think alike. I wonder if the structure is something he ran by Saban.

This almost feels like a $1 bet from trading places between Saban and Belichick. Kind of a "I bet I could make it work" conversation over a stiff drink.

At this point I'm here for the chaos. If this is what it takes for UNC to make a run at a decent football program so be it. It either works out or will be one hell of a 30 for 30 in a few years.

I think this may actually happen, mainly because the dynamic here is different. BB is looking something to take home, UNC just so happened to be the right chick at the bar at the right time.

UNC didn't pursue him, he is pursuing a program with potential and no obstacles for him to lay down the law. They just have to decide to get out of his way.

There is of course the strong possibility that UNC takes the “high road” and are too scared to move on this. If they pass, NCSU would be very wise to pursue.

Hello check (LOL, Belichick) already knows how to manage a pro team and that's what college teams are.

Tom Brady ain't coming to UNC though.

100% if people remove their bias and love good competition you know he's right. Heard a stat that made sense in all country the SEC had 7 of top 10 hardest schedules the ACC and big 10 had 1 team with top 20 schedule. Now that's a glaring difference.
yet the big has 4 teams in. Total cluster.

Play no one, rack up easy wins and get in. It’s the way of the future.

SOS is THE separator when every body can’t play everybody else. It’s a vicious cycle, because they’ve shown what’s what now.

AD’s will completely shut down non conference ‘power’ games. There is ZERO incentive to play them anymore. Then after a few years the committee will realize the mistake and change the rules…yet again.

Students are complaining about loan paybacks, whilst coaches and now players are getting paid $BANK by the same schools that dish out loans? What do you figure it'll cost someone who isn't an elite athlete, doesn't have a scholarship, busted their arse enough to actually get admitted into a decent college, but needs a loan to pay for it 10 years from now?

Colleges are a literal revolving door of $ right now, but soon enough, Chuck Norris is going to show up to that revolving door. School by School.

IMHO, the system in place is not sustainable. If a school spends big $ and doesn't bring in the big $ (by winning enough to bring in $), they'll have to rely on student debt to sustain, which will dwindle. Schools that bet $ Big and make $ Bank will become the Walmarts of college.

I fear, eventually there will be colleges with NO football teams, and colleges with almost only athletes and few students.

Shoot, 20 years from now there might not be 12 teams to put into the playoffs the way this setup is rolling.
