I just used butter and oil and fried it…. It was goodI am just now reading this...hope you stayed clear of Poison ivy in that one photo.
Couple years ago our son gave us a ton of Chicken Of the Woods. I am not a fussy eater at all, but darned if I could find a way to make that stuff tasty.

Look, we are talking mushrooms. Get your head out of the gutter.They get dryer and tougher if they’re a little more mature. They can be fairly tender and moist if they’re not that old.
