check chamber length

I have a shotgun chamber I need to check the length on. Is there a way to do this with "normal" tools or will I need a gunsmith to do this?

You can do a casting of it and also pick up a few gauge pins to check the length.
You can measure with a gauge pin down to the taper where the taper or cone starts that is the longest the fired shell you can use.
What you after? Got something that could be a short chamber or recut chamber?

32 gauge with no chamber length marked

2 1/2"

the gun should have "14/65" somewhere on it, most likely on the watertable

I don't know of a 32 that was made any other length

what gun? The American Arms import?

it is/was a H&R/NF barrel i was talking about a few mos ago....some had a longer chamber than others per the net and the earlier ones were not marked .....was made for shooting darts but I was thinking of shooting some roundballs out of it.
