...and only fished about 30 minutes at a private pond. I am not an excellent fly rod fisherman, and typically only do it a few times a year when no one is around to watch. And I do not know all the fly fishing nomenclature about rods and line, but wanted to share this bait with you that I have learned bass really like. After fishing poppers and sponge spiders for a long time, I now prefer this torpedo shaped bait. It moves on the surface in a very natural looking way. It is about 1/2 long, and is imprinted BoogleBug. I bought several a couple years ago at Great Outdoor Provisioning Co. in Raleigh. They also make a smaller size.
There was a lot of action today, and I had several other hits and takes. Did not measure the bass but estimate they were about 8", 10" and 10". But as you may know, on a flyrod they all feel like 3 pounders.
