Our favorite place to go at OBX and have rented homes from Twiddy and VRBO. The only business, if you will, is the fire station, so supply up before you roll up there. Nothing like getting up in the morning and having coffee on the deck with those feral horses eating persimmons or grasses nearby and plenty of gray fox up that way. Daily drives around the neighborhoods finds many more families of horses. Drive to the north end of the town and park then climb on your bicycles and go through the gate entry into false cape state park in Virginia for a picnic. A virtual wilderness.
