Sorry for the late response guys but for some reason I don't seem to be getting update emails from this and a few other threads. I'm not sure if it's at my end or what yet.
ctsnow, The deer I wrote of were taken in NYS. We had a list of individuals who were looking for a deer in addition to the deer donated to the NY Venison Donation Coalition who pay local processors to prepare and package the meat for pickup by local food panties or food banks. A hunter can donate all or any part of a deer and the coalition pays the processor directly for the processing.
