Food Lion has their butts for .99 lb this week. This is in the Winston area at least.
You can cook it in the convection oven so I don’t see why not. You’ll have a lot of grease in the bottom though. Can you air fry a Boston butt? Trying new recipes but unsure about it.

Snagged one in Rural Hall yesterday and wife picked up two in Pfafftown this morning. In both instances the cases were bare. Wife said she got the last two and after talking with the meat dept manager - they “should” be getting more.but didn’t know when.
I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Can you air fry a Boston butt?
sure you can, but it doesn't make the top 10 list of sins I'm likely to commit...Can you air fry a Boston butt? Trying new recipes but unsure about it.

Thank you for this. I will give this a try.Crock Pot 8hrs on high. Remove the bone with tongs. Carefully remove the meat to a pan that will drain the meat. The meat will be fall apart tender. Let rest a few mins. Put meat in another pan to pull apart. Season with desired seasoning immediately while meat is still hot. Viola !
This can be done inside during bad weather or while working, whatever.
Another option:
Place Boston butt in heavy tin foil turkey pan. Inject with desired juices. Apply desired rub all over butt. Cover and place in pre-heated oven for 12 hrs at 200°F.
Remove from oven and finish like above except while pulling meat apart, add the same rub you applied to outside of meat. The heat will break down the rub and flavor the meat.
These are two ways to have Boston butt pulled pork with an "inside" option. Simply takes weather and access to a smoker out of the equation.
We make tacos out of them, there is just so much meat I rarely cook them to throw half of it away.I always pick up a few Butts for smoking, but around my house they beg for a roast variety we saw several years ago.
Got one ready for the oven later today since I didn't want to mess with the smoker today.
I don’t have a big enough vac sealer, but with a half a butt, I’ll sear it hard on the Webber first then seal it with onions, peppers, jalapeños, garlic, tomatoes, tomatillos and cilantro to sous vide for tacos.Thinking of trying sous vide and finishing in the Weber charcoal grill. Anyone ever tried this?

I have done the opposite. Smoked several boston butts, put in freezer for another day. Thaw boston butt for a day in fridge. Then put in sousvide for 10 hours at 180 degrees. You will thank me later.Thinking of trying sous vide and finishing in the Weber charcoal grill. Anyone ever tried this?
