The man has won 6 super bowls as a coach and was apart of 2 more. Whether brady was there or not ......winning 6 super bowls speaks volumes. the way he coached and managed games speaks volumes. The way that he took a ton of misfit players and kept plugging them into his system year after year and grinded out win after win is incredible. Will he do that at UNC? maybe, maybe not. It's not gonna tarnish a legacy that includes more SB wins than any other coach has or will ever have. The man is a football mastermind. It's fine to hate him because he's good or due to spygate or inflate gate, etc..... but no one that has ever had that kind of success can be considered overrated.

I don't hate him AT ALL. I think this will be a WONDERFUL watch!

I took a bet with a much younger golfing buddy yesterday. He bet me $100 that UNC would win the ACC NEXT year.

I am just shocked/happy to see @Duckmauler dhc have a positive attitude towards football. Poor dude probably hasn't felt this enthusiastic ever. As someone who loves to watch them lose, I'm NOT feeling very optimistic. I think it's a very very potentially good thing for that football team.

I think it’s the best thing that’s happened to this program since dick crum and Lawrence Taylor. Being a unc football fan or an nc state fan is rough. Neither team has sniffed an acc title in over 4 decades. I think this is the only chance I will ever have to see someone get carolina football out of the basement and out of mediocrity in my lifetime.

They actually had their best DL LEAVE, yesterday (article was printed, yesterday).

How much longer is the portal open? I honestly figured BB would mop up in the portal. I'm no college football expert, but there just doesn't seem to be a lot of movement their way.

Honest question....because I don't know the real answer.

Let's say this kid is the best of the HS players in the whole country (for the sake of my question, let's assume he is).

Is he better than a 2nd or 3rd yr player that BB could lure to UNC to be a part of his "NFL minor league team"?

If the answer is yes, that's all I need to know. If the answer is no, then why is BB recruiting HS players?

I have followed his recruiting in the portal very closely and he has done a solid job imo. There are so many really good players on bad teams that you never hear about in mid major conferences that play OL and DL and the not so popular positions and he has been cashing in on those. Will that turn into wins? We will see. Still a lot of players yet to make decisions on whether they are staying or leaving from the current schools.

I saw he visited localish NC HS's round these parts today. Also saw He sports manboobs. I am NOT trash talking, because I have them also :D

Honestly, I would have figured it he was visiting 5 star recruits, he'd be in FL, TX, etc.

I'm not denying there are incredible football athletes here in NC, I'm just curious why he would not go for #1, #2, #3 etc FIRST?

As @oldest school posted, he knows, I don't have to.

1st portal is closed except for playoff teams there will be week or so in spring for another opening my guess that's where he'll try make a splash he was really to late fir winter coaches been wooing these guys for while he has missed out on lot for example the Branch brothers that weren't completely sold on Ga till end. Big question lot folks have is will Ewers go pro or transfer?

Wonder if that'll be enough it was basically Indiana's model can get you bunch wins against right competition.

If he's relying on recruiting he's gonna have long patient rd there are only so many Jeremiah Smiths and Ryan Williams out there that can make immediate impact and no matter his name he ain't getting all of em or enough. He'll have keep them on campus and from themselves transferring till developes them that's a big part of what pissed Saban off wonder how Bill will handle all that effort to watch guy transfer out

I think he'll use his NFL credentials to keep people home - at that level the NFL is the player's ultimate goal in many, if not most, cases.

Well....1.6 % of them make it.

I promise you....when you get on the field in college.....the ones moving on are obvious to the coaches, scouts AND other players.

I'm not so sure this NFL factory idea is gonna work out like lot think heck Saban had that for years and still the NIL and portal stuff basically talked him into retirement. Could be wrong but it's Def gonna be fun to watch and I'm extremely curious on how it goes.
