they call them canecutters or swampers down here....cottontail on steroids.....one can feed 4 people with a pan of gravy......runs like a deer...…..wide circles.....and yes they are fun.....
killed a swamper once that was giving the dogs a fit,,,round and round,,,finally went into the swamp amongst them,,,
dang rabbit was swimming in knee deep water with just a piece of his head/nose sticking out,,, like a raccoon to throw the dogs off,,,they stayed on him, but swimming slowed them down,,,,
rabbit died but he gave a heck of a race,,,,

hate it when they swim....they can hold hold 3lbs of water in their fur...lol... two's all I want to tote in my vest.....
