Authentic Venison Philly Cheeseteaks

Eight Pointer
These taste like the central Pa philly’s I grew up eating. The south street ones don’t have mushroom, peppers, or pepperoni.

Serves 5
1 whole deer loin 50% frozen sliced paper thin on a deli slicer or with filet knife.
1 large sliced onion sliced root to tip.
1 green pepper sliced
8 oz sliced mushrooms
20 slices pepperoni cut in thing strips
3 fresh baked Italian 12” sub rolls **hot tip** (get these from your deli sub shop in grocery store)
Jar cheese whiz microwaved 45 seconds.
1/2 stick butter
Table Salt
finely ground pepper

1. Preheat oven to 250F. Cut rolls in half and slice.
2. Melt 2 TBS butter sauté peppers onions on medium low heat stirring frequently until softened 5 mins.
3. Add mushrooms and cook until all is soft.
4. Remove from skillet.
5. Put rolls in oven to warm.
6. Turn burner up to high until skillet is smoking.
7. Add 2 TBS butter and pepperoni
8. Add steak to the skillet and salt and pepper. Heavy handed with the pepper.
9. Chop and stir until cooked.
10. Add veggies back in and stir it up.
11. Turn off heat. Add cheese whiz. Stir well.
12. Scoop onto sub rolls.
