Anyone heading to the Outer Banks

I will be going next week. Gonna do some surf fishing for the first time. My grandfather was a Pro at surf fishing but he passed away when I was 10. He took me fishing alot when I was little but never surf fishing. Got some of his rods and gear and gonna try it out while my daughter surfs.
Any recommendations or advice would be great .

I'll be in Buxton the week of October 13th. I would look for sloughs at low tide if I were you. We will be fishing the sound side too for trout. Should be good.

I'm going the first week of November. I just hope it cools down some. This heat is ridiculous. I usually take the kayak down and fish the sound around Oregon inlet
