Any experience with Vizsla's?

SpearDiver

Button Buck
I've finally realized its a whole lot easier to have a dog retrieve downed birds than it is for me to grab them. Since that realization I've been doing a ton of research on gun dogs and have fallen in love with the breed of Vizsla's. They are supposed to be a great pointer and retriever. The research tells me they are very similar to my current dogs, boxers, but they love to hunt.

Anybody know any breeders I can get in touch with, or have any first hand experience?

Be careful with them in the winter. They lack an undercoat which makes them prone to hyperthermia.

Eight Pointer
They're neat dogs. I like the look of the wirehaired vizlas better. They're supposed to be good in the house and great in the field.

Ten Pointer
Great breed. However, the problems you will likely have are 1) cold water tolerance, and 2) difficulty handling on blinds. Getting a pointing breed to trust you and handle on a blind will be a huge challenge. And personally, I don't want a retriever that can only pick up marks.
