In case you have not seen what Wildlifer is referring to, his conviction can now be voided.

https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2017/04/19/hernandezdismiss/BvCcJQ1Ubg3mJAze0ttpvJ/story.html
"In the eyes of the state of Massachusetts, the death of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez could make him an innocent man, thanks to a legal principle called “abatement ab initio,” said Martin W. Healy, chief legal counsel to the Massachusetts Bar Association."

If the conviction is voided, his family can get millions of dollars from the Patriots for unpaid bonus pay.

Im fine with his family getting the money. The Patriots don't need it and his little girl shouldn't have to suffer because daddy was a selfish gang banger.

True, but do we really need another Kardashian style diva in the world? Give millions to a kid from that background and that's likely what you'll get.

When someone on another website posted that with his death his conviction would be voided, I borrowed a quote from Dodgeball and replied

"It's a bold strategy. Let's see if it pays off for him."

The sports media sure gave him a lot of love the day he killed himself. We talk too much about pro athletes as it is, let alone the time we waste reading about the thugs.
