Thanks to a forum member, I was able to get an opportunity to trap a beaver on private land late last week and over the weekend. Got some great advice about how to set the snares and how to recognize beaver sign. I had 2 snares set on a pond that I checked every morning for 3 days and on the third morning (yesterday), I caught the beaver! 
A young beaver, no idea how much it weighed. We skinned it today and I fleshed it and put it on a beaver hoop on game land afterward. Will send it off to be tanned once it's dry.
Needless to say, I am over the moon to have caught some more fur during a difficult trapping season with everything going on. And, as a really nice bonus, I opened up a package of homemade maple syrup this afternoon that a trapper in PA sent me as a gift along with some traps. Waiting for my mom to get home so we can try it together. All in all, it was a really good day today!
