I was down along a small creek when I noticed the snake. I took my pictures from about 15 feet away and then.... it had enough of me and true to its name, VERY quickly disappeared into a hole. This is the first black racer that I've seen in a few years - tIMG_9822.jpghey seem to have declined a lot in my area.

Cool pic! Got a bunch around me. Saw one ran over in the road 2 days ago. Had my boss and a tech working on equipment tell me there was a copper head out front of the shop and they were looking for something to kill it with. I went out and looked and it was a tiny garter snake. I told them It was harmless and to let it be. But they are out now so wear your snake boots turkey hunting.
