Working a spinner through shallow, fast moving water has got to be one of my favorite ways to fish for trout. Congrats on the haul.
I love tight water.
1/32 oz Panther Martin on 4# line and a 4’-6” rod.

ankle deep riffles and knee deep pools.
pulling 18”fish out of stumps and root balls.
Having to sneak and stalk those spooky fish that seem to see you from 20 yards away...
no better way to spend a day!

Man you just wasting a good ol fried up meal😁 never had fish dip have look it up
Once they’re smoked the skin and bones release and you get perfect little chunks of shredded Smokey soft meat to mix with sour cream, cream cheese, bacon, green onions, jalapeños, and spice.
Eat cold with triscuits or celery or crackers or whatever.

Went with pecan today cause they’re going into a dip.
sometimes use Apple if we’re smoking them as a standalone meal.

I use pecan wood 95% of the time... just like the characteristics of the smoke from it. Apple seems like it would pair with trout well.

Glad to hear about the President, planning to order one of those and a Lews to replace the Penn 4300 that stripped last week...

One cup each brown sugar and kosher salt with a gallon of water.
Overnight.
then remove from brine and let them dry in the fridge for about hrs to help the meat get tacky.
Then smoke.
