28 gauge Swan

It’d been years since I’d killed a swan. Finally decided to put my tag to use this year. Went to Conmans with @CBD21. Pleasure meeting Mike for the first time and I hate to tell him, it won’t be the last. I’d forgot how awesome that part of the country is.
I pretty much only hunt with my 28 gauge nowadays. Loaded up some TSS 7’s in it and it hammered the bird. Cbd21 also got his with my 28 and he hammered his as well. Definitely no such thing as undergunned when TSS is involved. Already have prior approval from the CFO to get it mounted so this bird will be head to the taxidermists. It was a good time with good friends both old and new!1000B5AE-7253-4D20-9DC0-E3144197A66C.jpeg

Nice bird! You getting it mounted in N.C. or Tennessee? There used to be a guy in Oak Ridge, TN that was real good with birds. Don’t know if he does it anymore or not. Been over 20 years since I’ve talked to him.

Good job with the 28 ga., my favorite gun too. I load HW 13 for ducks which smashes them. Can’t imagine how good the TSS 7’s would perform, just cant justify volume shooting ducks with it. Turkeys and swans would be a different story however.

Congrats! Can’t get enough of the 28.

I also got one at Conman’s with the 28 on Saturday - loaded with 7/8 oz 7-1/2s TSS.
