This is a gathering of NCH&F members that started way back when it was NCDeer. I think this is the 23rd year of this social event
. It's basically a gathering of members that become family to share in life events, lie about hunts and fishing and throw stupid amounts of various and interesting food on grills, griddles and fryers to be shared by all that contribute to what's cooked. It's at our place (Conman's) on Lake Phelps. The lake is accessed from our place, so you can bring fishing and/or swimming gear if you choose. Bring your lawn chairs and choice of beverages. We ask that no hard liquor be brought. If you bring a dog, it must be kenneled or leashed. It's at the height of deer fly season, so be sure to bring copious amounts of bug repellant. I think that about covers it. You vets of this event can add on as you see fit.
You get a chance to eat stuff that you have no idea about the origin, with a bunch of chefs that have been imbibing often for several hours prior to their time at the hot appliance of choice.
It's just plain good, cleanish fun.

Ever since @TobyScreams and his family showed up last year with his outstanding fishing kayak, I’ve wanted something more than my little BassPro entry level model. And now I have one. Y’all get ready, we’re going to finally resolve the age old question of whether good equipment can compensate for mediocre fishing skills.
Right now it’s just me and my tent, but if I can get a buddy to come, I’ll bring the camper.

If I make it this year I’m bringing a fishing paddle board if anything. That kayak didn’t help catch the 6 crappie I caught the other day one bit. But I wasnt tired of fighting the wind either….
Primo Bear watching as well (counted 43 last year as well as a rattlesnake, a dozen yote pups, lots of turkeys, a huge wildfire, deer and dust.)

WHAT goes on here ?? Well you have a bunch of fishermen and hunters all gathered together. So there is some stories telling going on !! Now personally I think a couple stretching the truth just a little bit. OK OK may some stories ALOT of stretching . AND we eat and eat and eat some more. First time a went didn't a soul there. Yea that lasted about 5 minutes. It is a really great time !!!

work banned NChuntandfish so haven’t been on for a bit. Kelly and myself and the boys will be there just for Saturday morning-afternoon. We have to head back home for week long scout camp. They conned me into attending it this year.
