fished about 4 hrs this morning.
kept 3 of 6 caught for the first two hours.
could tell by the tracks I was fishing behind someone.

left there and went about 2 miles downstream and walked about 400 yards off the road.
started hammering fish with bites almost every cast.
Finished out my limit and switched to single hook and fun fished for another 30 minutes or so.
Ended up with 30ish caught and double that many bites. Kept 7 of the bigger ones. Lost the biggest fish I’ve caught in 3 seasons when I went to grab it.

fantastic morning on the water.
wish someone else had been there with me.

5/29 5/30 Fontana camping trip. Water was the highest I have ever seen and fishing conditions were tough. Manager to catch a couple natives for dinner!

My phone must have broke,,,,
Woulda loved a partner. Didn’t know I was fishing until my MIL said she wanted to watch the babe. Still managed to get some work done after I left the water.

Lemme know when you come up. Most of the places I fish are shallow and tight. More like hunting than fishing. You can see 50% of the fish you cast to.
Lots of flipping and pitching with 1/32 and 1/64 oz spinner.
Sometimes after the redundancy of bigger water, those spots like the ones you mentioned are exactly what the doctor ordered

My son bought some property last fall that haS a 15 acre old mill pond. Took wife last Saturday caught between 60 and 70 mostly bream and crappies with a few trash fish/bass mixed in. All on beetle spin. Probably would have done a lot better but with the heat it’s starting to get a bunch of weeds underneath the water and algae on top. Had somebody look at it that supposed to be in pond management but haven’t come up a solution yet. One idea maybe some carp along with herbicide.

Well after a 3 week hiatus of vacations and a sick child I finally made it back on the water. The summer time bite is on! I hope it stays hot and dry. We caught over 30 today in about 6 hours with a 5 pounder that was the big fish. All fish were fattened back up and recovered from the spawn.

Those boys will never forget those moments.

when they're your age, they'll tell their grandchildren about it.
I hopes so, I lost my Dad at 20, he never met any of his and Mom's 18 grandchildren and now 20 great grandchildren...She passed 3 years ago...I never knew either of my grandfathers...Two years ago, I got rid of my 1990 Bass Tracker and bought a 19 foot Carolina Skiff, best investment I ever made!! We have 5 grandchildren and they all love to go fishing with MiMi and Grandaddy... :)
