The tropical system did what it always does to the green carp……shut them down. Slowest day of the whole fall. 10-15 mph wind out of the north east, clouds, should’ve been the recipe for a smash fest. After a stretch of high number days we managed 15 today with this being the biggest. For over 30 years I have fished time and time again ahead of a tropical system and it has been extremely tough every single time. Ended up catching a bunch of big crappie on livescope though. Hope the floods and the drastic drop in water temp over the next week doesn’t screw it all up but if so it’s been an awesome fall.

THIS is exactly what we all should be doing. Mentoring the next generation to do things the right way and enjoy the outdoors via hunting and fishing. Some of my longest lasting, best memories was of camping/fishing with my Father, Uncle, Brother, and Cousins. Little man is lucky enough that he will have to think back and try and recall times and things he was doing other than fishing, lol.

Day 1 of 3 at lake hartwell started with a monster of a striper. Didn’t get the best picture of it but scale read 20.76 lbs. one of the biggest stripers I’ve ever caught and caught it on a spinning rod on 8 lb test line. The rest of the day was filled with spots, largemouth, hybrids and the biggest school of big crappie I’ve ever been on in my life.36B442A5-05A7-4604-8203-49AA2B1FB2B7.jpeg7D81571F-19DF-4DAC-97BF-B8081C8E8446.jpeg

Well the last morning of the trip we landed on a massive school of stripers, hybrids, perch and spots. It was 6 straight hours of fish catching. On a side note……it is hard to tell the difference between gar and stripers on livescope lol I’ve never seen gar so willing to eat an artificial lure.

A pretty good catch Wednesday 11/23. I caught about 50 using night crawlers on jig heads with a slip float. What a way to spend the day before Thanksgiving 👍
