Up in Wilson Co. been and eventful 2 days with trespassers!! Had duck hunting trespassers yesterday and deer hunting trespassers in Martin Co this morning. Only shooting a bear if one steps out.

Now I got 6 dang bucks in here. 4 spikes, 4 pts and 7pt.
Dang 7pt about got shot. He stepped out and he’s got real good tines on one side and my heart started racing.
Put the scope on him and he’s only about 14-15” wide. Clearly a 2.5 yr old. I’m going to let him go.

Last few days have been terrible slow: took daughter Firday and this morning, saw 6 spikes and 2! Does, no chasing, really been pretty dead. No one saw anything over 1.5 year old buck all weekend.

I slept in this morning and took care of a side job. In a blind deep in mountain (Wilkes). Hunting some family land I don’t get to a chance to come up but once a year but it’s nice being on ground I cut my teeth on in my teenage years. Never know what may happen up here. This place is littered with buck sign.

4 hour set this morning and didn’t see a thing. Checked camera on way out and both bucks I’m after are still around. Got pics of them laying in corn every night!

Didn't go this morning. We cut up 2.5 deer last night that were hanging in the cooler. Ended up with about 70lbs of grind. Made some summer sausage, finished up some bratwurst, hot Italian sausage and some chorizo. Got invited to a preserve today so went and did that just got back. Buddies freezer is full and I've got two bucks to cut up so none of us really feeling like going hunting

My scope has either gotten knocked off zero or I’m in a horrible slump. Shot a doe a couple mornings ago and felt great about the shot. Ended up tracking 250-300 yards and lost blood. Figured it to be a brisket hit. Shot at another doe this evening and clean missed. Locked in a deathgrip shooting and felt calm as can be for both shots. Going to the range this week to figure out what’s going on.
