11/15 Live

We decided to take an impromptu trip this weekend to get away from the house for a few days. I am hunting a gameland I’ve never hunted before, and have only scouted one time a few years ago. Not really sure what to expect but I seem to have found a place away from people. Whether a deer will cooperate or not is another story. Good luck everybody.

Out for the mtn muzz opener. Started in at 5, been sitting here a minute or two waiting on light to slip down to this laurel edge in a big bowl. 2.6 from the truck so it’ll take something good to get me to pull the trigger. A little warmer than I’d like but otherwise a beautiful morning.

Edit - 2.6 according to OnX. Phone says otherwise

Got to stand a little later than I like and bumped a deer out. Pretty sure it was the yearling thay made a big circle and came right back.
Cool not cold morning on the mountain and still

Left the house at 3:30. Left the car at 5.
Almost to my spot. Gonna sit here and chill before slipping into this place. Gap transition with oaks between super thick bedding all around.

this place is a classic 9:30 kill spot.
You will be in them like you always do. If you believe what the apps say major feeding time is 9am this morning

Up a tree on Jordan. I’m back to the same tree I saw a 3 point a few days ago. I tried walking in with no headlamp and got lost. I made it to my tree late. Same thing happened 2 years ago and I shot an 8 point before I was completely settled into my stand. It’s one reason why I don’t worry about being settled into a spot an hour before LST. My buddy likes to do that and I’ve started to drive there separately. I’m not getting at 4:00am to hunt.

Quiet so far here at the mason dixie line part of Moore County. Local dog club killed a dang stud of a 8 point yesterday.
