11/14 Live

Had to make a decision; go hunt Pee Dee Refuge for the second day of the draw hunt or select one of usual spots around home. After no deer sightings and fighting world record sized skeeters yesterday at the refuge, I going with the usual. I know this may sound crazy with my trophy hunting mind and being that time of year but I got an itch to try out my new rifle. So, a doe or two may be in trouble this morning. Good luck to you all.

Stuck at home. Leaves, knives, and deer processing await today. Sounds like I’m being responsible; it’s mostly because I’m sick. Didn’t want anyone to get their hopes up that I’ve “grown up”.
Lol I would only argue that you’re “stuck” at home due to being sick and also having to do leaf cleanup. Knives and deer fall under the category of good reasons to stay home. Hope ya feel better bro

Last day bowhunting this year for me. Starting to figure out whatever the forecast says for this area go ahead and take 15* off that. 22* where I am this morning, set up on the same rub line as yesterday evening.

Feels weird hiking 1.8 in here only to be set up within earshot of a highway. Hopes are high, sure feels good this morning

Work schedule changed again. After a mere 42 hour week they said no more OT on this check and sent us packin at 2 yesterday. Got home at dinner time instead of 9 or 10 pm. Slept in till 6. Lounging on the couch with my dogs. Wife picking up slack in the OT department today. Low tide down near the hunting property is early afternoon. Prob run down there for oysters and sit a couple hours. Really shoulda gone this morning since it’s cool out but I said hell with an alarm. Wake up whenever and have a slow placed morning. Might decide to say hell w the deer and do some stuff around here. But them easily obtainable oysters are calling my name

Taking care of some stuff around the house this morning. Going to head out around lunch to the game lands. Taking the boy with me today, hoping I havent overestimated his walk-in ability. Hopefully we get a little rut action and he can see some deer.

Thinking I'm done for the morning, absolutely dead here, zero activity at all. They'll probably run dogs through here tomorrow; at least that will break up the monotony.
