Been in since day break nothing so far. Rain comes and goes. Still better than driving tractor trailer on a day like today. Much needed break next 4 days off. Good luck everyone!

Could've gone this morning, but chose not to. It looked like some heavy rain was going to be moving over in the first hour of daylight. @surveyor was it raining hard up there after daylight?

Last year it seemed like we hit the weather right all season, every weekend was some kind of cold weather front. This year, my days to hunt and the good weather days seem to be out of sync. An excuse, I know.

Oh hell yeah it rained.

Got a break in it and looked at the radar and it showed it cleared out.

Took off the rain gear.

Turns out, my app was set to future radar.....

So about 10 minutes later, the bottom fell out heavy rain for about 15 minutes.

I did get my poncho back on before the deluge.

Gonna hunt this evening and camp tonight to be ready for rifle opener tomorrow. Got a couple of cameras to pull to help make up my mind on where I'll be. One buddy is going to join in at camp and then another coming down for the morning hunt tomorrow so we'll have a lot of ground covered. Still trying to put my first down of the year.

Of course on the one day that I dont have work or school we have a hurricane with 70+ degree temperatures. I didnt go this morning but the winds not doing too much so I may give it a try this evening. A lot of big deer will die sunday, especially with central rifle season opening but I have work so I cant hunt in the morning and will only be able to be out for about 2 hours in the evening.

At it again. Wind gust from the south with normal breeze anywhere from west to north east.

75°.

The only thing more surreal than the amount of acorns is that they are still falling, and the ones on the ground are germinating and taking root....

Wind just pushed through and it’s pouring buckets right now. About the time that it gets ready to let up, I’m getting out of this recliner and going after one that showed back up after dark last night who has been gone since Oct 30th.

Well, I'm currently sitting under my tarp because it started pouring after I checked the cameras. Got some good intel from that, one nice 8 walking around I'd love to lay eyes on. Looks like the rain may settle enough for me to start walking again here soon. Need to finally buy me a rain fly for my pack.

I was processing last week’s buck and saw turkeys so I paused the processing and slipped down to hunt. Turkeys have hung around for about 2 hours. For last half hour or more (didn’t really pay attention to time) someone was shooting targets.

Sunny and windy until now. Wind nearly went nonexistent and dark so I checked radar. I’ve got a nasty band about to run up my backside that future cast shows it will hit me by 6. I think they might be on Daylight Savings Time.

Got in at 2:30. Rain on and off has helped cool things off. Wind laid down for a little bit but has picked back up. Covered a couple of miles. Seen some good sign and saw a small 3 pt who got a pass.

Muzzleloading season ends with epic rain, a bunch of hawks and bitchy squirrels.

I'll tote the rifle until I put something in the freezer, then it's back to the black.

Mid day hunt worked. Saw more doe. Then 1230 in the clear cut I was in thought I heard a grunt and chasing. Then heard the grunt again. Hit the grunt tube and here he came charging in. Only had about 5 seconds to judge him at 50 yards. Had to yell and yell and yell to stop him after saying he’ll do. Dropped him In the tracks then did a follow up after reloading just to put him down quicker. Solid but with the few seconds he had ground shrunk but not upset. Now after my main targets that started showing up on another property again.
