Went back to where I killed the 2 does in rifle season. Same game plan. Slip along slowly and hope to sneak up on one.
The deer read the script. Slipped up on 2 bucks feeding in a hardwood patch. Let the smoke roll on the closest one, bang flop.
The other one hauled behind over a low ridge. I reloaded and gave chase. Caught sight of him as I slithered over the top of the ridge. Crawled to within 20 yards of him and let him hold a 240 gr XTP.
1. Watched a deer bed at 100 yards… after 45 minutes iof not seeing horns I shot it in its bed
2. Turned out to be a Shed antler buck… small buck probably a 1.5 year old
